About the Position
An Imaging Technology Specialist operates medical imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' internal structures. This role involves positioning patients, operating X-ray machines, and ensuring image quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Position patients and X-ray equipment to obtain clear images.
- Prepare and operate X-ray machines and other medical imaging equipment.
- Determine X-ray techniques and adjust exposure factors as needed.
- Maintain patient records and document imaging procedures.
- Follow radiation protection protocols and ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to assess image quality.
- Assist with interventional radiology procedures, including fluoroscopy and CT scans.
- Maintain and troubleshoot medical imaging equipment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- Certification by the ARRT.
- State licensure or certification as a Radiologic Technologist (if required in your state).
- Knowledge of radiographic techniques, anatomy, and medical terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
