Job Summary
As a Resident Physicist at Health eCarears, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of radiological imaging equipment. Your responsibilities will include performing acceptance testing, radiation dosimetry calculations, and equipment surveys to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements. You will also support clinical medical physics and assist with health system staff training and education.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform acceptance testing on radiological imaging equipment to meet new equipment specifications and baseline image quality assurance metrics.
• Conduct radiation dosimetry calculations and computerized data analysis.
• Perform equipment surveys, including State of California, American College of Radiology (ACR), and Joint Commission required testing of diagnostic modalities such as radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography, CT, ultrasound, MRI, and nuclear medicine equipment.
• Support clinical medical physics to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Assist with health system staff training and education.
• Assist with administrative efforts related to inspections and regulations.
Requirements
• M.S. or Ph.D. in medical physics, physics, engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge in radiation physics.
• Strong interest in working with a multidisciplinary medical team.
• Preferred candidates should have a degree from CAMPEP accredited Medical Physics graduate program or have completed all the CAMPEP required didactic coursework.
