Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced industrial Incident Investigator to join our Loss Prevention organization. Our team provides day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to our operations as well as a centralized technical support and consulting function. Our field offices are located throughout the Kingdom.

Your primary role as an industrial Incident Investigator is to help investigate industrial incidents, identify proper root causes, and the actions necessary to prevent recurrence. This includes preparing draft and final incident reports as well as providing long-term support to address all recommendations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Investigate industrial incidents, particularly those with high consequences, and comprehend the hazards associated with industrial facilities and their corresponding controls.
  2. Identify, preserve, and examine incident evidence using widely accepted forensic science principles.
  3. Support investigation teams by ensuring a proper understanding and utilization of investigation techniques.
  4. Conduct thorough investigations using appropriate investigative tools specific to the incident at hand.
  5. Understand incident causation and the impact of human factors.
  6. Develop or meticulously review all draft incident investigation reports and oversee all stages of review.
  7. Identify recommendations that warrant global dissemination for corporate-wide implementation.
  8. Create lessons learned and safety alerts/bulletins to disseminate actions aimed at preventing recurrence.
  9. Educate employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely communication of lessons learned.
  10. Develop and review corporate safety guidance on incident investigations.
Requirements:

This role requires the candidate to permanently relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an Accredited Institution. 10 years of experience investigating high-consequence (major) industrial incidents. A deep understanding of the various tools and techniques utilized in conducting such investigations. Excellent communication skills in English, capable of effectively communicating with peers and management. Ability to produce clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
