Company Overview

Asterix Communications is a multidisciplinary, sustainable cleantech consultancy based in Abu Dhabi. The local team is composed of a diverse range of qualifications, including CCPs, LCCs, ESG Consultants, and trained Decarbonization professionals. We also have commissioning authorities and sustainability consultants based in MENA. Our current projects include development of Sustainability & ESG reports, strategies & policies, Decarbonization Roadmaps, Net Zero Advisory and development of comprehensive sustainability frameworks for public and private sectors.

Key Responsibilities

General:

  1. Member of Climate Change & Policies team.
  2. Support business development efforts such as stakeholder engagement, events, public speaking, and expanding the network and brand.
  3. Responsible for ensuring invoicing targets for assigned projects are met and on track.
  4. Main focal point of contact with clients on assigned projects.
  5. Understand and implement the principles of project management (scheduling, resource levelling, effective meetings, and client relations).
  6. Quality control and review of reports.
  7. Prepare and deliver technical and promotional Presentations.
  8. Deliver White Papers as required by the Head of Department.
  9. Willingness and ability to travel for client workshops and events.
  10. Maintain the required KPIs and strive for continued personal development.

Technical:

  1. Conduct research on ESG trends, software, best practices, regulations, and industry benchmarks to inform strategic decision-making.
  2. ESG data gathering, organizing, and analyzing, including environmental metrics, social impact indicators, and corporate governance information.
  3. Perform the required assessments and analysis for ESG strategy and reporting (benchmarking, materiality, SWOT analysis, R&D).
  4. Develop content for ESG reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting the ESG performance and progress.
  5. Participate in the review and management of sustainability KPIs/requirements implementation at the corporate level or project level.
  6. Develop Sustainability strategies, frameworks and roadmaps for projects, masterplans, public/private entities.
  7. Develop bespoke sustainability policies and standards that address energy, environment, water, circular economy, and climate change.
  8. Develop GHG inventory.
  9. Conduct GHG Assessment across all scopes (scope 1, 2, 3) using all GHG Protocol standards and the ISO standard.
  10. Develop decarbonization and Net Zero strategies.
  11. Willingness and ability to expand areas of expertise to accommodate project requirements.

In addition to your responsibility to follow Asterix Communications' Integrated Management System, every employee at Asterix Communications is required to familiarize themselves with Asterix Communications' Environmental Impact Assessment and contribute towards minimizing their individual environmental impact in the course of their work. It is the duty of all employees to act within the legal responsibilities imposed upon them and the Company's Quality, Environment and Health & Safety policies. All employees must familiarize themselves with the Company's Integrated Management System's policies and procedures.

Requirements

Skills:

  1. Strong networking skills.
  2. Effective negotiation & persuasion skills.
  3. Knowledge of the local market, including legislation, competitors, and major potential clients.
  4. Knowledge of local challenges, mindsets, and culture to better navigate negotiations and stakeholder engagements.
  5. Familiarity with and experience in GRI, TCFD, IFRS and similar ESG reporting standards.
  6. Familiarity with and experience in GHG Protocol.
  7. Capable of developing strategies and recommending measures that aim at reducing, mitigating, and avoiding emissions.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with both clients and consultants.
  9. 5-8 years of demonstrated project experience.
  10. Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (Environmental, Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture).
  11. Excellent planning and organization skills are required for our fast-paced environment.
  12. Ability to self-manage.
  13. Strong communication skills (Written, electronic & spoken).
