**Job Title**: Salad Maker

**Job Summary**:
The Salad Maker is responsible for preparing and assembling a variety of salads, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh, properly prepared, and presented attractively. This role involves working closely with the kitchen team to provide high-quality salads that meet customer preferences and dietary requirements. The Salad Maker must have a good understanding of different salad types, dressings, and garnishes.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Salad Preparation**:
1. Prepare and assemble a variety of salads, including garden salads, fruit salads, grain-based salads, and specialty salads.

2. Wash, peel, chop, slice, and prepare ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality.

3. Mix and prepare salad dressings, sauces, and garnishes as per the recipe or customer request.

**Quality Control**:
1. Ensure that all ingredients are fresh and of high quality, discarding any items that do not meet standards.

2. Monitor the quality and presentation of all salads, ensuring they are visually appealing and consistent in taste.

3. Maintain portion control to ensure consistency and cost management.

**Menu Adherence**:
1. Follow established recipes and menu guidelines for all salad preparations.

2. Assist in creating new salad recipes and offerings based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.

3. Accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions, such as gluten-free, vegan, or low-calorie options.

**Health and Safety Compliance**:
1. Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.

2. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cutting boards, knives, and salad preparation stations.

3. Ensure all salads are prepared and served within safe temperature guidelines.

**Inventory Management**:
1. Monitor and manage inventory levels of salad ingredients, notifying the kitchen supervisor of any shortages or overstock.

2. Assist in the ordering and receiving of fresh produce and other salad ingredients.

3. Minimize waste by using ingredients efficiently and properly storing leftovers.

**Collaboration and Communication**:
1. Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of salads during service.

2. Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to accommodate special orders and customer requests.

3. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for menu development and service improvements.

**Customer Interaction**:
1. Occasionally interact with customers to gather feedback on salads and address any concerns.

2. Adjust salad offerings based on customer feedback and preferences.

**Cleaning and Maintenance**:
1. Ensure that all salad preparation tools and equipment are cleaned and maintained regularly.

2. Follow proper procedures for disposing of waste and maintaining a sanitary work environment.

**Qualifications**:
1. Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role, preferably with a focus on salads or cold dishes.

2. Knowledge of different types of salads, ingredients, dressings, and garnishes.

3. Basic knife skills and ability to prepare ingredients quickly and accurately.

4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation.

5. Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

6. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

8. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
