Rigger - Onshore

JOB PURPOSE:
Set up rigging for the timely, safe and proper berthing and un-berthing of vessels alongside jetties, to fulfill the operating requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- **Job Specific Accountabilities**_

1. Follow all standard operating procedures to carry out rigging procedures at the Onshore jetties.

2. Set up rigging for the timely, safe and proper securing and releasing of vessels, through their ship’s mooring lines, alongside jetties to fulfill the operating requirements.

3. Assist the Foreman in safe berthing and un-berthing of vessels at the jetties.

4. Select rigging gear, such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weight, size, operational requirement, and work schedule in order to carry out rigging operations..

5. Clean and dress machine surfaces and component parts in preparation for rigging operations.

6. Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools to carry out rigging operations.

7. Test Rigging to ensure safety and reliability.

8. Dismantle, maintain, and store rigging equipment.

**Safety**
- Implement all standard safety operating procedures, instructions and precautions to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
- Provide assistance in all emergency situations to ensure safety of personnel and protection of equipment and gear against damage.

**Housekeeping**
- Keep the working environment clean and tidy so that the rigging operations can be carried out in an orderly and safe manner in line with the company standards.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
**Internal**
- Onshore Rigger Foreman, Other onshore riggers

**External**
- Contract staff working offshore

**QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**:
**Minimum Qualification**
- School certificate (10th standard) with a good understanding of the standard rigging operating procedures and the safety procedures and precautions.
- Must be physically fit and able to swim.
- Must be able to use wireless hand held radios.

**Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills**
- 2 years past experience as an Offshore Rigger.

**Professional Certifications**
- Rigging and slinging

**6. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES**:

- Basic English Language literacy and ability to read and implement the standard operating procedures manual.

- Ability to learn and practice the standard safety and operating procedures, safety consciousness, teamwork.

**HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT (HSE) AND SUSTAINABILITY**
- Must ensure all rigging gears are certified and tested regularly before operations as per ADNOC HSE management system, and to ensure all such equipment are within date of examination.
- Responsible to understand the risk assessment of the intended operation(s) as per the requirement of the ADNOC safety management.
- Must carry out HSE duties assigned by the Station manager/Rigger Foreman or his/her delegate(s).
- Responsible to understand the ability to stop the work when safe to do so as per ADNOC HSE Policy.
- Responsible to understand the terminal(s) HSE requirement with respect to rigging/lifting operations with respect to the intended job.
