**Job Summary**

Subject Matter Expert (SME) will support a strategic workstream to review existing UAE capabilities. The SME will operate as part of a diverse Team of highly trained professionals located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This position requires experience defining medical evacuation planning assumptions and developing capabilities development plans to achieve the organization’s target mandate and missions. Areas of focus for capability development include medical evacuation systems, roles and functions. SME must have experience in developing capability development plans, including defining core mission areas, defining core competencies. This position requires deep understanding of medical evacuation support linkages and interdependencies from the strategic to the tactical level.

This position requires experience building realistic training environments through scalable scenarios. The focus for collective training is replicating the environmental conditions and tactical tasks across the Medical Evacuation mission area. Experience with developing scenarios and conducting training. The Medical Evacuation Trainer must be an expert in medical evacuation roles and functions. This position requires deep understanding of ground and air medical evacuation and supporting roles, responsibilities and organizations, and how those concepts and capabilities can be scaled and adapted to support the UAE.

**Essential Functions**
- Plan and lead training seminars on medical evacuation roles and functions
- Coordinate, as required, with medical evacuation unit commanders to design training seminars and training
- Identify and document lessons learned
- Establish and maintain relationships with UAE stakeholders and other agencies.
- Exhibit culturally appropriate interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Support development of team roles, responsibilities and procedures

**Desired Qualifications**
- Retired Medical Service Corps Colonel or Civilian Equivalent with extensive Medical Evacuation operational and planning experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal oversight in a variety of roles
- Demonstrated management and planning skills
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge training with Middle East Coalition partners
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite Skills (emphasis in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint)
- Previous work experience in the Middle East is preferred
- Possess a valid Passport (with more than 6 months to expiration)
- Master’s Degree in health care, health service administration, health, or a related field
- War College Graduate or MEL 1 equivalent
- Served as a member of a Joint or Major Component Command within the last five years
- Ability to prepare and conduct executive level briefings
- Served as a trainer in a Combat Training Center or Mission Command Training Program
- Work history in the Middle East desired

**Education and/or Experience**:

- Master’s Degree in health care, health service administration, health, or a related field
- War College Graduate or MEL 1 equivalent
- Ten or more years of planning and executing intra-theater tactical, operational and strategic medical evacuation within a theater of operations
- Served as a member of a Joint or Major Component Command within the last five years
- Ability to prepare and conduct executive level briefings
- Ten or more years of planning and executing intra-theater tactical and operational medical evacuation within a theater of operations
- Served as a trainer in a Combat Training Center or Mission Command Training Program
- Work history in Middle East desired
