**Dietitian Services**
- Dietitian/s will serve all residents of NMC PIMC. The resident population covers pediatric and adult residents. All residents will have initial assessments to determine goals for intervention within 72 to 96 hours of admission.
- Dietitian/s is part of the multidisciplinary team working alongside the doctors and nurses to provide the best outcomes to residents.
- Collects, analyzes, and summarizes relevant data from the residents and medical records.
- Interprets laboratory values and estimates nutrient requirements.
- Collaborates with nursing to complete nutrition screening for residents within 72 to 96 hours of admission.
- Completes doctor’s orders in accordance with facility policy.
- Documents residents’ nutritional services in the medical records following facility policy guidelines and governing body standards.
- Evaluates appropriateness of enteral nutrition support, including energy, protein, and adequacy of fluid provisions, making necessary recommendations in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicates changes and additions in nourishment provision, residents’ food allergies and food preferences to multidisciplinary team.
- Conducts resident education with the family and sitters as needed.
- Evaluates diet prescription relative to diagnosis and recommends changes as appropriate.
- Develops nutrition information relevant to current practice theory.
- Assists in review and revision of policies relative to nutrition care process.
- Revises and creates educational materials as necessary.
- Continually studies emerging trends and new research related to the practice of dietetics.
- Attends all mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
- Involved in the management of physical resources including decision on procurement of materials related to the service, quality improvement, and education of NMC PIMC staffs, significant others and the community.
