A key role that has a broad remit and responsibilities for supporting Global / Regional Wholesale Advisory team and Wholesale CMB Lead on providing oversight and management, of all aspects of Compliance (regulatory and Financial Crime Risk) including impact analysis of regulatory changes, and driving coordination and execution of the various Financial Crime Compliance work streams and assurance, while ensuring alignment with Global Standards in the MENAT region. This role requires:

- Strong partnership with the Commercial Banking (CMB) business lines and Regional/Country Compliance teams, acting in concert with them to drive the implementation of policy. It will monitor and tackle the Regional/ progress of various work streams and initiatives underway which fall under the umbrella of Regulatory and Financial Crime Risk (FCR) providing policy advice related to GBM/CMB products, services and clients, and ensuring that the Compliance function is resourced adequately to address the risks associated with Global/Regional CMB business.
- Engagement with the UAE Chief Compliance Officer and REGIONAL WHOLESALE ADVISORY alongside the Wholesale CMB Lead to stay at the forefront of key regulatory changes to ensure proactive communication with business, and develop appropriate policy and framework to manage the changes, particularly extra-territorial changes. It will be the GBM/CMB go-to person for both Global Standards and work stream leads to ensure processes are coordinated and implementation risks and issues are considered and addressed.
- Sound understanding of the compliance three levels of risk taxonomy holistically for RC and FC, control effectiveness framework and the risk assessment methodology and to be able to articulate the same.
- The role is a critical forward looking role and requires strong partnership with business to drive and accelerate the execution of Financial Crime Compliance programmers that directly impact business performance. This role is accountable for assisting Regional Head of Wholesale Compliance advisory and Wholesale CMB Compliance lead on the implementation of Compliance policies in to the business and as such it will require close collaboration with various Risk and GBM/CMB Business functions.

**Key responsibilities**
- Assisting Regional Wholesale Advisory and Wholesale Compliance CMB lead to ensure proactive approach is taken to identification of regulatory and financial crime risk change and potential impacts on CMB Business Model in Region/;
- Developing and continuously reviewing the appropriateness of framework to monitor financial crime developments impacting on the respective businesses in MENAT;
- Assisting the respective individuals to drive the Regional implementation plans to quantify impacts and implement actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of regulatory changes on Global CMB;
- Assist implement regulatory policies and procedures related to Conduct, Complaints, Control of Information, Conflict of interest and support business in meeting regulatory requirements notably pertaining to CMB.
- Developing and implementing, as required, AML, CTF, Counter Proliferation, Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption, Tax, Fraud and Sanctions policies and systems that ensure that GBM/CMB exposure to financial crime and reputational risks is managed, in a practical and effective manner, including efficient and reasonable deployment of resources and an understanding of the business operations and needs;
- Establishing and implementing global standards and strategic policies in the Region to ensure exposure to current risks and emerging arising risk is managed appropriately, in a commercially focused and practical manner;
- Working closely with relevant MENAT/UAE Financial Crime Investigation (FCI), Reputation Risk and Business Financial Crime Risk (BFCR) to manage Risk and Compliance matters.
- The job holder is required to influence and help oversee a large area of HSBC activity in the UAE and across the MENAI' region to ensure the overall environment in which the business operates is fully compliant.
