**Job overview**:
**POST: Second in Charge of the Sixth Form (Sixth Form Co-ordinator)**:
As a key member of the school's Middle Leadership Team, the Second in Charge - Sixth Form will contribute to the school's overall leadership and management, promote its aims, and support an ethos that promotes achievement and high standards.

The Second in Charge - Sixth Form will report to the Head of Sixth Form and Deputy Headteacher of Senior School.

**Specific Responsibilities**:
**Pastoral**:

- To support the pastoral well-being and academic progress of the sixth-form cohort.
- To lead on Sixth Form Assemblies with the Sixth Form Team.
- To work in conjunction with the pastoral team to ensure the attendance and punctuality for Sixth Form is at the required 98%.
- To attend inclusion meetings regarding student concerns and well-being.
- To support and lead positive behaviour strategies in conjunction with the whole school behaviour policy.
- Ensure that all sixth-form students are confident in the Safeguarding, Health and Safety requirements and school knowledge, including Fire Drill procedures.
- To support and promote parent engagement within the Sixth Form.

**Academic**:

- To support the Head of Sixth Form and timetable manager as required, ensuring all sixth form students are allocated to the correct courses.
- To ensure staff are advised regarding national and international developments with reference to university policies, careers and specific areas of the Sixth Form curriculum.
- To support the management of the Sixth Form supervised study areas in and around the school.
- To participate in academic learning walks to support Progress Routes.
- To lead on the internal progression routes to support the retention of existing Year 11 students and the recruitment of external applicants.
- To support recruitment and enrolment of new students in the Sixth Form.
- To lead in promoting destinations, careers and educational opportunities to Sixth Form in collaboration with the careers counsellor.
- To lead and organise the Sixth Form Careers Interview Programme.
- To lead on the Sixth Form UCAS process.

**Enrichment Programme/Personal Development**:

- To lead on the implementation of the Year 12 Induction Programme.
- To lead, develop, and manage the Sixth Form REACH Programme with the support of the Careers Team.
- To lead, organise and manage the Sixth Form Future Leaders Programme, ensuring students participate in internal and external extra-curricular activities.
- To lead on Sixth Form student voice and surveys, in particular Komodo.
- This job description is not exhaustive, and the postholder will be expected to undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Headteacher.

**Essential**
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- A track record of achievement and ambition.
- Ability to motivate and inspire others, both colleagues and students.
- A considerable work rate and a high degree of administrative efficiency.
- Must have an understanding of the UCAS, Oxbridge, and admissions process.
- Knowledge of current educational issues, particularly those relating to the Sixth Form curriculum and funding, vocational education, career guidance, and university entrance.
- Sensitivity to dealing with difficult pastoral and staffing issues.
- A positive approach to problem-solving.
- Recent and relevant professional development.
