Job Description:
As a Coffee Roaster, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our coffee products. You will be responsible for overseeing the roasting process, from selecting and sourcing green coffee beans to roasting, blending, and packaging the final product. Your expertise in coffee roasting techniques, attention to detail, and passion for delivering exceptional coffee will contribute to the success and reputation of our brand.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coffee Bean Selection and Sourcing: Collaborate with the sourcing team to select high-quality green coffee beans from various regions. Ensure consistency and quality in the selection process to meet flavor profiles and customer expectations.
- Roasting Operations: Operate and maintain coffee roasting equipment according to standard operating procedures. Monitor roasting profiles, adjust settings as necessary, and ensure consistency in roast batches. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the roasting area.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks throughout the roasting process to ensure flavor, aroma, and color meet established standards. Identify and address any deviations from quality parameters promptly.
- Blending and Flavor Development: Collaborate with the blending team to develop new coffee blends and flavors. Experiment with different roast profiles and blending techniques to achieve desired flavor profiles while maintaining consistency.
- Packaging and Labeling: Oversee packaging operations, ensuring proper weighing, sealing, and labeling of roasted coffee products. Maintain accurate records of roast batches, inventory levels, and packaging materials.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of green coffee beans, roasted coffee, and packaging materials. Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely replenishment of supplies to meet production demands.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance tasks on roasting equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with maintenance technicians as needed.
- Training and Development: Train new team members on coffee roasting techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures. Provide ongoing coaching and support to enhance skills and knowledge within the roasting team.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, food safety standards, and company policies. Maintain accurate records of roasting logs, quality inspections, and inventory transactions.

Qualifications:

- Must have a Driver's License.
- Proven experience as a Coffee Roaster or similar role in the coffee industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of coffee beans, roast profiles, and flavor characteristics.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining coffee roasting equipment.
- Strong sensory evaluation skills and ability to discern subtle differences in coffee flavors and aromas.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Certification in coffee roasting or related field is a plus.
