Job Title: Restaurant Manager
Location: Oii Restaurant and Café
Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Position Summary
The Restaurant Manager at Oii Restaurant and Café is responsible for leading all aspects of daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining the highest quality standards that align with Michelin-level excellence. This role involves managing staff, optimizing operational and financial performance, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and upholding Oii’s reputation as a destination of choice for Mediterranean cuisine. The Restaurant Manager will play a pivotal role in driving profitability, securing national and international recognition (such as Michelin, Gault&Millau, and other prestigious accolades), and upholding Oii’s brand identity, which celebrates authenticity, creativity, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
- Oversee all day-to-day operations to ensure seamless service delivery and smooth workflows.
- Implement and maintain Michelin-level cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations (e.g., UAE labor laws, food safety).
- Monitor food and beverage quality, ensuring consistency and alignment with Oii’s Mediterranean culinary identity.
- Conduct regular inspections of the dining area, kitchen, and facilities to ensure they meet Oii’s premium standards.
- Maintain up-to-date SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure operational consistency.
2. Customer Experience Excellence
- Lead by example, inspiring the team to deliver warm, authentic, and personalized service that exceeds guest expectations.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally, ensuring complete satisfaction.
- Monitor guest feedback through surveys, social media reviews, and direct interactions, implementing improvements as needed.
- Foster strong relationships with VIP guests, regular diners, and influencers to encourage loyalty and positive word-of-mouth.
- Continuously improve the guest journey—from reservation and arrival to departure—ensuring a memorable dining experience.
3. Financial Performance and Budget Management
- Develop, monitor, and manage annual budgets, ensuring profitability and effective cost control.
- Analyze key financial metrics, including revenue, expenses, food costs, and labor costs, identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.
- Track financial performance against targets, providing regular reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
- Implement strategies to maximize revenue, such as upselling, menu promotions, and efficient inventory management.
- Minimize waste and optimize inventory through regular audits and collaboration with trusted suppliers.
4. Team Leadership and Development
- Recruit, train, and develop a highly skilled and motivated team capable of delivering Michelin-level service standards.
- Design and implement ongoing training programs, focusing on fine dining etiquette, menu knowledge, and operational excellence.
- Conduct performance evaluations, offering regular feedback and creating development plans for staff growth.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes respect, accountability, and collaboration.
- Manage staff scheduling, payroll, and attendance to ensure efficiency without compromising service quality.
- Address employee concerns and conflicts effectively, ensuring team alignment with Oii’s values of hospitality and excellence.
5. Quality Control and Menu Management
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet Oii standards.
- Support the execution of seasonal menus, special events, and exclusive offerings, ensuring they reflect Oii’s Mediterranean roots.
- Conduct regular tastings and quality checks to maintain consistency and innovation in food and beverage offerings.
- Align service delivery with Oii’s vision of offering authentic Mediterranean cuisine with creativity and precision.
6. Awards and Recognition
- Strategically plan and execute initiatives aimed at achieving national and international recognition, including Michelin, Gault&Millau ratings, and other prestigious awards.
- Maintain meticulous attention to every detail of service, food quality, and ambiance, ensuring alignment with award criteria.
- Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to position Oii as a leader in the UAE’s casual/fine dining scene through innovation and continuous improvement.
7. Marketing, Promotions, and Brand Development
- Work with the marketing team to create campaigns, events, and strategies that highlight Oii’s Mediterranean identity.
- Develop initiatives to attract new customers, retain loyal clientele, and boost guest engagement through loyalty programs and exclusive events.
