**TITLE: CARPENTER CUM PAINTER**

**JOB SUMMARY**:
We are looking to hire an experienced Carpenter cum Painter, who is responsible for painting residential or commercial properties in a timely manner. Their duties include meeting with clients to discuss color schemes, carpentry and assist with other maintenance repairs, keeping an inventory of supplies like paint brushes, rollers, tarps or ladders and working with a team to oversee the completion of jobs.

To be successful in this role, contributing to company profitability, ensuring the service ability of repair, maintain, prepare, paint and polish all joinery, woodwork, furniture and other facility in order to accomplish the highest standards of operating conditions at all times.

**SPECIFIC DUTIES**
- Communicating with clients to determine their painting requirements and helping them make the best decisions for their projects
- Assembling scaffolding as required and make working sketches of partition, walls, fixtures and frames in order to complete assignment.
- Covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint
- Repairs furniture, doors windows, tables and cabinets. May also construct, assemble and install permanent structures, office partitions, door, cornices and counters, panels, walls and ceilings. Lays out and construct forms and shuttering for new structures.
- Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they’re smooth
- Mixing and matching paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications
- Knowledge of fixing decorative ceramic tiles, wall plastering, concrete mixing and shuttering, fixing of road paving tiles, silicon and grouting work.
- Maintaining an inventory of supplies like paint brushes, rollers and tarps
- Removing old finish using scrapers, chemical compounds or blowtorches
- Estimating time and material costs on painting projects
- Cleaning machines, equipment and work areas using water, solvents and other cleaning aids
- Removing and reinstalling fixtures (e.g., doorknobs, electric switch covers) as necessary
- Following safeguards, rules and regulations
- Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.
- Assisting with customers' queries and all other maintenance tasks.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
- Performs routine maintenance and submit service report on completion of tasks.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**REQUIRED BEHAVIORAL TRAITS, ATTITUDES & SKILLS**
- Proven experience as a carpenter cum painter.
- Ability to handle painting tools and other equipment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly with a great deal of patience
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical and other systems.
- Knowledge of general maintenance, carpentry and repair.
- Working knowledge of hand tools, common appliances and devices.
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
- Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in awkward spaces.
- Willingness to take on-call or any additional technical requirements deemed necessary at a time when overtime will be required.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

**Salary**: AED2,000.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
