**Responsibilities**:

- Greet customers entering the establishment in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Scan items, enter prices, and calculate totals using electronic or manual cash registers.
- Accept cash, credit card, or other payment methods and provide accurate change to customers.
- Bag or package purchases neatly and securely for customers.
- Ensure all items are properly scanned and accounted for before finalizing transactions.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding products, prices, and store policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including wiping down counters and conveyor belts, and removing debris.
- Monitor checkout lanes to ensure smooth flow of customers and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Balance cash register at the end of shift and reconcile cash and credit card transactions.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as restocking shelves and monitoring stock levels.
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, customer service, and safety protocols.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role.
- Excellent math skills and ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic cash registers or point-of-sale systems.
