Marine Dratsperson

The draftsperson is responsible for the creation and preparation of the structural/fabrication drawings as well as 3D models of various structures required for projects, following instructions from design engineers, and using knowledge of structural drawing symbols and applicable codes.

**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

The duties and responsibilities of the Marine Draughtsman includes:

- Prepare structural and fabrication drawings from preliminary sketches and specification.
- Provide drafting support for all project requirements.
- Create 3D models for demonstration use by various teams and sales department.
- Gathering the structural and material requirements.
- Maintain the registry of drawings
- Create drawing templates and 3D models database for engineering department.
- Storing and filing project drawings for future references.

**ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS**

Reports to Engineering manager

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**

Minimum 2 years working experience (preferably in Marine Industry/ Marine Transportation)

**SKILLS & COMPETENCIES**

a. Post-secondary diploma in drafting or equivalent

b. Advanced experience in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software (Inventor or SolidWorks)

Familiar with Classification Society Rules/ MWS Guidelines

d. Experience in steel structural and steel fabrication drawing preparation.

e. Good knowledge of engineering drawing symbols.

f. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

g. Ability to meet deadlines and multitasking.

h. Able to work independently
