- Job PurposeAssist in providing overall leadership to plant operations and maintenance of Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) as per regulatory requirements, operating policies and procedures, nuclear standards for public health and safety, employee health and safety, and environmental protection to ensure safe and reliable power generation.- Activity:

- Line Management Delegation
- Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Carry out designated responsibilities of the Line Manager on a business needs basis, with the ultimate accountability residing with the Line Manager.
- Assume responsibilities, where required, based on the Delegation of Work (DoW) and/or Delegation of Authority (DOA) to ensure the commensuration of to the authorities required to satisfactorily complete those requirements.
- Ensure mutual agreement on the designated responsibilities allocated by the Line Manager prior to the commencement date.
- Assist in overseeing the preparation and execution of Commissioning (both Pre-Core and Power Ascension Testing (PAT)), including oversight procedures and processes required to perform effective oversight of the activities performed by PC and Operations to assure design criteria, safety and regulatory requirements are satisfied.

Plant Management
- Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Assist in managing the plant consistent with operating policies and procedures, nuclear maintenance requirements, the license, design basis, and other regulatory requirements to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Work with the plant management team to ensure industry events related to operations and maintenance are reviewed and lessons learned are incorporated into maintenance documents to maintain optimal efficiency in delivering energy.
- Recommend plant strategies, plans, and management process improvements to support achieving plant performance targets, and long-term plant reliability.
- Work with the plant management team to establish standards for housekeeping, material condition, as well as operations and maintenance effectiveness to ensure organizational effectiveness.
- Assist in overseeing plant systems and equipment and manage their performance to optimize equipment availability and ensure safety and long-term reliability.
- Conduct periodic walk downs of plant facilities to check plant condition.
- Verify and assist in managing the oversight of the number of permanent and temporary modifications to the plant in accordance with defined requirements to ensure safe, reliable operations.
- Verify temporary changes to special safety systems and reactor regulating systems to ensure safe, reliable operations.
- Assist in overseeing the environmental parameters and site fire brigades to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Verify the commencement of commissioning and the placing in service of permanent plant modifications to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Plant Performance
- Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Verify that actual performance is monitored against established performance criteria through various means such as self-assessment programs, performance monitoring programs, and direct personal observation to continuously improve performance.
- Verify that problem-solving and analysis is conducted when unacceptable performance deviations occur and that corrective actions are initiated and tracked to resolution to continuously improve performance.
- Verify plant operating, maintenance, testing, and other procedures in accordance with license requirements to ensure compliance.
- Liaise as required with the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) regarding plant Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities to ensure alignment.
- Assist in overseeing O&M plans, programs, and activities are conducted in accordance with relevant environmental, FANR, and Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC)/ Nawah policy requirements to ensure compliance.

Staff Training and Qualification
- Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Validate BNPP training programs provide the necessary skills to ensure plant personnel are capable of safely, reliably, and efficiently performing activities in accordance with regulations and approved guidelines and procedures.
- Provide assistance in establishing performance standards, goals, and objectives for training and communicate these expectations with department personnel and training department to ensure alignment.
- Coordinate with the training department to establish and maintain course content and emphasis, to determine and support training schedules, to accomplish On-the-Job Training (OJT) and evaluation, to observe training activities, and to provide feedback as necessary to ensure alignment with performance objectives.
