**Job Title**: Entomologist

**Location**: Abu Dhabi, UAE

**Qualifications**:

- M.Sc. in Entomology or B.Sc. (major in Entomology).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of entomology.

**Responsibilities**:
The Entomologist will report directly to the **Technical Manager** and will be responsible for:

- Preparing checklists and monitoring the status of urban pests in Abu Dhabi.
- Developing dichotomous and interactive keys for urban pest identification.
- Studying the life cycle, distribution, physiology, behavior, ecology, and population dynamics of insect pests in Abu Dhabi.
- Researching the effect of physico-chemical parameters on mosquito larvae populations.
- Evaluating new techniques and measures for urban pest control.
- Rearing urban pests such as cockroaches, flies, and mosquitoes for experimental purposes.
- Conducting laboratory and field pesticide evaluations as per guidelines from OECD, WHO, or EPA.
- Analyzing experimental data using statistical tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Minitab) and preparing technical reports.
- Publishing research papers in reputable scientific journals.
- Identifying pests, preparing reports, and preserving specimens for future reference.
- Developing annual, seasonal, and monthly pest forecast models, including during crises or emergencies.
- Providing training on urban pests and their control measures.
- Supervising pest control operations teams and ensuring contract compliance.
- Monitoring team performance and ensuring adherence to job responsibilities.
- Managing operational plans, survey plans, and scheduling tasks within the IPM system.
- Submitting field-collected samples to research laboratories with complete documentation.
- Maintaining records, ordering supplies, and ensuring the availability of required materials.
- Educating the public on the purpose, safety, and hazards of pesticide treatments.
- Providing continuous training and education for pest control teams.
- Preparing and submitting detailed reports to the Technical Manager and other stakeholders.

**Key Skills and Requirements**:

- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Minitab).
- Strong ability to prepare technical and operational reports.
- Excellent organizational and team management skills.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
