Job Title: Research Scientist 2 Division: Research & Development Country: UNITED ARAB EMIRATES Work Location: UAE (RAK head office) Job Type: Research Scientist II Employment Type: Full Time Employment (Limited Contract) Purpose: The role holder is responsible for formulation development of Generic Drug Formulations, trouble shooting of Existing Formulations for quality improvement and technology transfer of products & processes. Maintain accurate and complete laboratory records as required by company policy and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements. Responsible for performing literature survey, patent search and preparation of Prototype Formulation Report. Identification & finalization of API & excipient sources for new product development. Participate in product process optimization, reformulation of the product - report writing and closing. Plan, design and perform pharmaceutical experiments for the new product development by QbD approach. Key responsibilities & Accountability: Responsible for formulation development of Generic Drug Formulations, trouble shooting of Existing Formulations for quality improvement and technology transfer of products & processes. Perform literature survey, patent search and preparation of Prototype Formulation Report. Identify the Reference product and initiating the process for procurement of Reference Product. Develop Quality Target Product Profile based on knowledge gained from literature search and Reference Product characterization. Responsible for Identification & finalization of API & excipient sources for new product development. Responsible for performing & concluding pre-formulation/ Drug-Excipient compatibility studies of assigned projects. Participate in product process optimization, reformulation of the product - report writing and closing. Prepare registration dossiers of products for submission, support CTD and dossiers documents. Plan, design and perform pharmaceutical experiments for the new product development by QbD approach. Review of analytical development data and systematic compilation of the assign product data. Support in the manufacturing of batches for registration, stability batches and BE studies. Support manufacturing of pilot/scale-up batches with necessary documentation and technology transfer of products and processes to production. Prepare R&D relevant SOP’s for GLP and GDP compliance. Prepare periodic project report and submit to Manager. Collaborate with Analytical Research & Development, Supply Chain, Production, Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Medical Affairs teams to complete projects on time. Qualifications: - Education 4 years Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or related Sciences. - Experience: At least 5-6 years’ experience in in Formulation Development for Regulated markets and non-regulated market. - Training: Proven experience of handling Semisolids/Oral Solids/Liquids/Injectables in Research and development. Should have handled similar role for a better fitment of this position Good Command in English (communicating, writing and speaking) & Arabic as a plus. Proficient in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, etc.). Key Competencies: In terms of competency you are highly result oriented with strong sense of accountability & ownership. Good on process compliance, having strong attention to details and should be Proactive in approach Must have a solution centric mind to understand issues and solve them within a stipulated time frame, ability to understand new issues quickly and make scientific decisions. You must have excellent understanding of Pharmaceutical Business with strong analytical skills. Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration skills required Motivated, organized and should be able to juggle competing priorities.
