**Job Summary**: The Estimator for Joinery & Furniture is responsible for preparing precise cost estimates for custom joinery works and furniture projects. This role involves analyzing project drawings, material specifications, and labor requirements to provide accurate pricing for a wide range of carpentry and furniture manufacturing projects. The Estimator collaborates with design, production, and procurement teams to ensure the projects are cost-effective, competitive, and delivered within budget.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Cost Estimation for Joinery and Furniture**:

- Review architectural and technical drawings for custom joinery (e.g., doors, windows, cabinetry) and furniture to calculate material, labor, and production costs.
- Prepare detailed breakdowns of costs for various projects, including woodwork, finishes, hardware, and installation.
- Use pricing models and software tools to develop accurate cost estimates for both large-scale joinery projects and individual furniture pieces.
- **Material and Labor Assessment**:

- Identify the type and quantity of materials required for each joinery and furniture project, such as timber, laminates, veneers, and hardware.
- Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to obtain current material pricing and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Estimate the labor hours required for manufacturing, assembly, and installation, taking into account project complexity and craftsmanship.
- **Bid Preparation and Proposal Development**:

- Create comprehensive bid proposals, including cost estimates, project timelines, and scope of work for both joinery and furniture projects.
- Ensure that bids are competitive, profitable, and meet the required quality standards.
- Present proposals to clients, project managers, or internal stakeholders for approval and negotiation.
- **Collaboration and Project Coordination**:

- Work closely with design, engineering, and production teams to gather project requirements and ensure estimates reflect accurate details.
- Update estimates as needed to accommodate design changes, scope adjustments, or material revisions.
- Monitor project budgets and provide cost-control support during the execution phase to keep projects within approved budgets.
- **Market Research and Trend Analysis**:

- Stay informed on industry trends, new materials, and production techniques related to joinery and furniture.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure up-to-date pricing and access to high-quality materials.
- Analyze historical data to improve the accuracy of future estimates and bidding strategies.
- **Reporting and Documentation**:

- Maintain detailed records of all estimates, bids, and project-related documentation.
- Generate regular reports on project costs, budget variances, and profitability for internal review.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and legal requirements for project documentation and cost control.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as an estimator, particularly in joinery and furniture manufacturing or a similar field.
- Strong understanding of joinery techniques, carpentry processes, and furniture production.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

**Education and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating, preferably in joinery and furniture production.
