**Job Title**: Carpenter

**Job Summary**:
The Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard using various carpentry tools and techniques. This role involves reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials to create frameworks, walls, roofs, and other wooden structures.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Construction and Installation**:
1. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.

2. Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials to construct frameworks, walls, roofs, and other structures.

3. Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, flooring, and trim.

**Repairs and Maintenance**:
1. Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.

2. Repair and maintain existing wooden structures and fixtures to ensure safety and functionality.

**Finishing**:
2. Sand and polish wood surfaces to a smooth finish.

**Framing**:
1. Build and install frameworks, including partitions, joists, studs, and rafters, to support structures and walls.

2. Ensure that structures are aligned, level, and meet building codes and standards.

**Joinery**:
1. Create and assemble cabinets, shelves, and other wooden furniture using joinery techniques.

2. Install and repair custom woodwork, such as moldings, staircases, and decorative trim.

**Tools and Equipment**:
1. Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including saws, drills, hammers, chisels, and planes.

2. Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of carpentry tools and equipment.

**Safety and Compliance**:
1. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

2. Ensure all carpentry work complies with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.

**Documentation and Reporting**:
1. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including measurements, materials used, and project progress.

2. Prepare and submit reports on completed projects and any issues encountered.

**Team Collaboration**:
1. Work closely with other construction professionals, such as electricians, plumbers, and painters, to coordinate projects.

2. Assist in training apprentices and new employees on carpentry techniques and safety procedures.

**Customer Interaction**:
1. Communicate with clients to understand their carpentry needs and provide recommendations.

2. Provide estimates on project costs and timelines.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in carpentry is preferred.
- Proven experience as a carpenter or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in carpentry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environments.
- Knowledge of building codes, standards, and safety regulations.

**Working Conditions**:

- Carpenters typically work in various environments, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- The role involves physical labor, including standing, bending, lifting, and working in confined spaces or at heights.
- Work hours may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the demands of the job and project deadlines.

Pay: AED1,200.00 - AED1,400.00 per month
