**Job purpose**

The role of Advising and Student Success Manager is to provide to AUE students with advising, mentoring, tutoring and language development services to support their academic success. Part of the manager role would be to monitor students who are facing academic challenges and support them with the needed to achieve their academic goals. Through the Advising and Student Success Office develop a close relationship intended to aid students in achieving educational, career, and personal goals using the full range of AUE institutional and community resources. By so doing the services offered by the Advising and Student Success Office will be promoted to other relevant departments with a particular focus on academic advising, mentoring and language development.

**Qualifications & Education**
- Minimum Master degree in: Educational Leadership/ Advising/Educational Psychology

**Languages**

**Experience**
- A Minimum of 5 years’ experience in academic support, advising, mentoring, tutoring

**Skills / Training / Knowledge**
- Sound knowledge of academic support and how to support students who are transitioning into university from work or school.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Analytical Skills
- Self-directed with organizational skills
- Desire to help others achieve their goals.
- Excellent oral, written and telephone communication skills.
- Training skills for tutoring and mentoring
- Skills in second language acquisition

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage Academic Advising and Student Success Office at the AUE in terms of its operational implementation focusing on academic advising, mentoring and language development;
- Establish working relationships at the macro institutional level with departments in particular academic departments and at the micro level with individual staff members and students;Be responsible for the development of content materials concerning academic adivising, mentoring and language development for staff and students;
- Ensure the delivery of accurate information to students on academic policies and procedures, in areas of mentoring, advising, and language development in all forms of social media and apps as well as being web
- based;
- Manage and coordinate between students and academic advisors in the AUE to ensure, developmental advising to develop a close student-advisor relationship intended to aid students in achieving educational, career, and personal goals using the full range of AUE institutional and community resources;
- Manage and provide academic assistance and support to students through referral units, and to faculty members based in colleges who are discipline specialist as well as departmental heads.
- Monitor students’ academic performance and generate termly reports for the management of the AUE in terms of challenges, attendance of class as well as attendance of other support services as part of a tracking system;
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff in the academic Advising and Student Success Office and ensure professional development;
- Conduct appropriate training for mentors and tutors based on the above
- mentioned feedback from their performance through observations of sessions.
- Promote Advising and Students' Success Office services and resources to AUE faculty, staff and students as part of the first-year experience, during transition from freshmen to senior level, and at the end point when students are transitioning from undergraduate study to career and Graduate study.

Manage special projects for the office of advising and student success, including performing administrative duties as needed. This includes the delivery of special workshops to students and staff;
