The **Investment Principal** role is a critical role in BECO’s investment team, and offers a unique opportunity to shape a new strategy for one of the region’s largest non-governmental venture capital firms. **Responsibilities**
- **Portfolio Oversight**: Lead portfolio monitoring, ensuring regular and accurate data collection and producing recommendations for portfolio management. Drive portfolio reviews and prepare strategic summaries for senior leadership.
- **Due Diligence Leadership**: Lead due diligence for new deals and follow-on rounds, collaborating with General Partner to ensure thorough and timely analysis aligned with investment criteria.
- **Investment Memos and Deal Primers**: Own and finalize investment memos and deal primers, ensuring high-quality deliverables ready for partner review.
- **Valuation and Risk Analysis**:Oversee valuation models and sensitivity analyses, assessing risks and testing scenarios for potential returns. Mentor junior team members in these processes.
- **Product and Service Evaluation**: Lead product demos and testing, providing strategic feedback and comparisons to inform investment decisions.
- **Market and Economic Analysis**: Direct market research and analysis to identify high-impact opportunities and emerging risks, ensuring actionable insights for the investment team.
- **Legal Documentation**: Work with legal counsel to review and execute all investment-related legal documents, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- **Strategic Input**: Contribute to the firm’s investment strategy, providing thought leadership and driving discussions on market trends and investment themes.

**Requirements**:

- 6-8 years in an investment role in growth-stage VC, public markets, or investment banking.
- Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills, coupled with strong commercial acumen and critical thinking.
- Demonstrated success at preparing and presenting investment memos, reports, and insights for senior management.
- Highly detail-oriented, ensuring that all aspects of due diligence, valuation, and legal documentation are meticulously handled.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient; thriving in fast paced environments.
- Digitally native and tech savvy; has a propensity to leverage tech to make themselves efficient in their work and use data driven insights for the continuous improvement of deal sourcing.
- Experience working in MENA or the GCC is a bonus.
