- Duty Station: Abu Dhabi, UAE
- Duration: Four (4) months starting from 23 October 2023

**WHO WE ARE**:
Headquartered in Seoul, Republic of Korea, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an intergovernmental organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth, known as “green growth”, which targets key aspects of economic performance such as poverty reduction, job creation, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. GGGI works with its Members and partners around the world, building their capacity, working collaboratively on green growth policies, and mobilizing green investments. The organization partners with countries, multilateral institutions, government bodies, and the private sector to help build economies that grow strongly and are more efficient and sustainable in the use of natural resources, less carbon intensive, and more resilient to climate change.

The Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa (RO-MENA), based in Abu Dhabi (UAE) oversees GGGI operations in the MENA region, manages regional initiatives, and develops regional partnerships. The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is looking for an Intern for the RO-MENA.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE LEARNING AND DOING**:
The RO-MENA is looking for a talented individual to to support: (1) desk-based research on the: development of some of the components of the “Africa and Middle East SAFE” Initiative on food security and food systems transformation; (2) synthesis of priorities of governments and institutions in the MENA region; and (3) the preparation of meetings and events, and drafting documents including minutes and summaries.

Working under the dual supervision of the Regional Director and the Principal Investments, the intern will produce Brief Notes on the areas (1) and (2) abovementioned by reviewing publicly available primary and secondary information. The Brief Notes will be used by GGGI colleagues as background for the development of technical paper(s), concept notes, proposals, and strategic engagement plans related to governments and partners. The intern may also be requested to support in drafting other documents related to RO-MENA operations and be involved in other areas of work that may support her/his learning needs based on the intern’s capabilities

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:
You need to have excellent written command of English and proficient in Microsoft Office. You also need to meet the GGGI internship eligibility criteria as follows:

- Are you enrolled in a Master's or in a Ph.D. program, or in the final year of a Bachelor’s program?
- Have you completed Bachelor’s, Masters or PHD Degree in last 12 months?
- Are you between a first degree and graduate school (gap year)?

**WHAT ARE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS**:
Duration: The internship program lasts for at least three months and can be as long as four months. Once selected, interns must begin your internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation. The intern is expected to start on 23 October 2023.

Cost: All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.

Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.

Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.

Medical insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI.

Confidentiality: Interns must be discreet and keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.

Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.
