**Job Title**: Waitress

**Job Summary**:
The Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service to patrons by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. She is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness, setting up dining areas, and assisting in other restaurant operations. A successful waitress should be friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about the menu to assist customers with their choices.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Customer Service**:
1. Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding a suitable table or seating.

2. Present menus to patrons and answer any questions regarding menu items, daily specials, or dietary concerns.

3. Take food and beverage orders accurately and promptly relay them to the kitchen or bar.

4. Ensure that orders are served correctly and in a timely manner.

5. Check on customers regularly to ensure they are satisfied with their meals and address any requests or concerns.

**Order Management**:
1. Serve food and beverages following service standards and hygiene guidelines.

2. Handle special requests or dietary restrictions from customers with professionalism.

3. Process guest payments by handling cash, credit, or debit card transactions accurately.

4. Keep track of orders and manage customer tabs in a timely and organized manner.

**Cleanliness and Organization**:
1. Set up tables with proper place settings, glassware, and cutlery before the service begins.

2. Clear tables efficiently once customers have finished dining.

3. Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, and dining areas to ensure they meet health and safety standards.

4. Assist in restocking supplies such as napkins, condiments, and beverages.

**Collaboration with Staff**:
1. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure that orders are prepared correctly and on time.

2. Communicate effectively with fellow waitstaff and supervisors to provide a smooth and efficient dining experience.

3. Assist in any additional tasks assigned by the restaurant manager or supervisors, such as helping with inventory or cleaning tasks after service hours.

**Menu Knowledge and Recommendations**:
1. Be familiar with the restaurant's food and beverage offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and any allergens.

2. Suggest food and drink pairings or upsell special menu items to enhance the customer experience.

3. Stay informed about daily specials and promotions to inform customers effectively.

**Safety and Hygiene**:
1. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.

2. Maintain personal hygiene and a professional appearance during work hours.

3. Be aware of emergency procedures and report any accidents or unsafe conditions to management immediately.

**Qualifications**:
1. High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

2. Previous experience as a waitress or in a customer service role in the food and beverage industry is preferred but not required.

3. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

5. A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

6. Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.

7. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations is a plus.

**Physical Requirements**:
1. Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.

2. Ability to carry trays, plates, and drinks weighing up to [specify weight].

3. Ability to work in varying conditions, including shifts that may extend into the evening or weekends.

**Working Conditions**:

- The Waitress typically works in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
