We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Habitat Operator to join our team. The Habitat Operator will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of habitat systems used in offshore or confined space environments. This role requires a strong understanding of habitat technology, safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
**Job Summary**:
- Set up, operate, and maintain habitat systems used for welding, cutting, and other maintenance activities in offshore or confined space environments.
- Ensure the integrity and functionality of habitat enclosures to provide a safe and controlled environment for personnel and equipment.
- Monitor atmospheric conditions inside the habitat, including temperature, humidity, and oxygen levels, to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct inspections and tests of habitat components and systems to identify and address any issues or deficiencies.
- Collaborate with project teams and contractors to plan and execute habitat operations according to project schedules and requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on habitat equipment, including seals, gaskets, ventilation systems, and structural components.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to confined space entry procedures.
- Document work activities, including maintenance records, inspection reports, and equipment performance data.
- Provide training and guidance to team members and contractors on habitat operations and safety procedures.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and regulatory requirements related to habitat technology and operations.
**Qualifications** Qualifications**:
- Mechanical diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in habitat operations or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar jobs.
- Proven experience as a habitat operator or similar role in industrial environments.
- Knowledge of habitat systems, including pressurized enclosures, gas supply systems, and environmental monitoring equipment.
- Understanding of welding and cutting processes conducted within habitat enclosures is advantageous.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Physical capability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to offshore or remote locations as required.
