This is an exciting role for a Project Accountant with a strong cost focus working with the various operations managers and project leads across our business lines.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, working with other country accountants, Business Line and Project Managers across the AMEC REgion. Responsibilities of this role include:

- Responsible for all aspects of project accounting and ensuring projects operate with an appropriate and effective set of financial controls
- Timely and accurate preparation of business line accounting entries and reports in line with monthly and quarterly project timetables
- In-depth review of Profit & Loss and liaising with project managers
- Assisting business lines with forecasting updates and variance analysis
- Capture and safeguard project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans and savings plans are properly calculated and disclosed at the project reviews.
- Close working with assigned business line to assist with management and reduction of WIP, Accrued Income, Aged Debt and other KPIs.
- Communicate and support internal and external payroll functions
- Ad-hoc duties as required by AMEC Financial Controller.

Should have previous experience in a project or management accountant role in a medium-sized business. Wide knowledge of practical daily operations of an accounting team. Experience working with integrated ERP business management systems and proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.

You should have a High level of accuracy and attention to detail, the ability to work under strict deadlines and the ability to communicate clearly.

**Required Experience**
- Prior experience in project accounting
- 5 years of relevant finance & accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and entries.
- Prior experience in a multi-national company
