Operational
Studies the customs cases/files of different issues and from different departments to
provide recommendations in keeping with Customs Acts and Laws.
1.
Recommends fines and suitable actions in a timely manner for different customs
issues/cases to ensure the collection of the fines.
2.
Prepares legal booklets, correspondence, circulars and documents related to customs
duties and fines as well as other areas related to customs to create
awareness/communicate related changes.
3.
Contributes to develop or enhance Customs case management system of Customs
Case Management section to improve the section effectiveness in handling the cases.
4.
Prepares drafts of decisions, bulletins and instructions concerning customs cases to
respond to external authorities queries.
5.
Follows up, updates and receives technical feedback on issues relating to legal cases
to ensure resolution of the same.
6.
Creates templates for reports, cases, fine decisions and contracts as well as updates
them periodically when required by liaising with other departments.
7.
Extracts reports and information regarding violators, smugglers and similar to provide
concerned parties with this information to ensure restricting such activities

Facilitates reconcilement between Dubai Customs and violating parties for smuggling
and relevant cases with the approval of the Director General/his delegate.
9.
Facilitates the progression of cases in courts/prosecution by providing
information/support with a written approval from the Director General
10.
Registers customs cases for follow up and provides feedback to customs centers to
restrict escalation of cases.
11.
Create awareness brochures/bulletins about customs’ violations, smuggling crimes
and penalties
12.
Executes and develops the Legal Department’s strategy by implementing the
department’s action plans in line with the Vision of DC.
13.
Prepares relevant documents for Director General’s approval on the decisions related
to confistigation of goods or other materials.
14.
Follows up on customs issues and the course of conduct between the Department of
Legal centers and other customs departments in order to ensure the legal practices
are followed correctly in handling the cases.
15.
Creates an electronic archive of the cases information in order to have future
reference and to find out the statistical information from the cases.
16.
Represents DC in external authorities such as Governmental, legal, banks and all
related bodies in cases initiated in DC or against it or for any legal procedure related to
Dubai Customs
17.
Signs on behalf of Dubai Customs in front of the Notary in the Emirate of Dubai on
contracts, agreements and endorsements that include the acceptance of waiving of
other parties to any amounts transferred or not transferred for the organization’s
benefit
18.
Registers complaints in Police Centers against counterfeit cheque owners and fraud
cases.
19.
Prepare and provide training courses to Customs’ employees about Customs law and
coordinate with concerned departments in placing training plans for training employees
with regards to seizure reports, customs violations, smuggling crimes, reconciliation
procedures and grievances.
20.
Perform all other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor on time with
reliability, honesty, and discretion.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

- Graduate in the relevant business area

**Experience**:
Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience as
legal executive level

Customs Experience would be a
definite advantage
