Are you looking for a new role within Tanker Operations in Dubai?

We are currently working with a tanker owner in Dubai who are looking for an experienced Tanker Operations Manager to join their team.

They are looking for someone with 5 or more years’ experience in Tanker Operations, who also has shipping studies or seagoing experience. You will need to be fully conversant with relevant parts of ISM code as well as excellent command of the English language. The commercial knowledge of the types of ships under management is also a requirement.

**Job Description**:

- Knowing the basic vessels’ operational capabilities such as speed, consumption, draft, deadweight, cargoes that the vessel can carry etc and maximum intakes
- Keeping the Chartering office updated frequently about the vessels’ schedule so as to allow them to fix the vessel timely
- Making sure all pre-clearance requests with questioners and documentation are submitted in a timely manner and accurately to facilitate the fixture
- Monitoring vessels’ cargoes, in order to ensure that only cargoes which the vessel is certified to carry are carried
- Monitoring tank and hold cleaning, providing special instructions when necessary in consultation with the HSSE SI
- Voyage planning with a view on safety, voyage cost optimization and improvement of TCE
- Monitoring trading areas and arrange for additional war risk premium before vessels entrance to war risk area, if needed
- Monitoring vessels bunker stock and arrange appropriate grade of bunkers in line with internal procedures and best industry practice
- Checking charter parties, fixture recaps and voyage orders for inconsistencies and terms which could lead to loss or are in violation of laws, international regulations or ISM Code procedures and notify the Chartering Team, Fleet Manager and Operations Manager of the same
- Informing vessels about fixtures, ensuring that voyage orders are lawful and within CP terms and passed on to the Masters and understood by them
