Teacher Assistant

**Responsibilities**

Assist with lesson planning.

Assist with classroom schedule and room arrangement.

Identify barriers to learning and report to Teacher.

Assist with lunch and snack.

Maintain positive relationships with families, allowing Teacher to address concerns to parents.

Promote feelings of trust and security in the program.

Assist in completion of timely, neat, accurate documentation of infant daily sheets, toileting/diapering logs, assessments, screenings, attendance, inventory, temperature logs and other documentation that may be necessary for quality services.

Keep classroom and hallway bulletin boards looking fresh and inviting

Simple daily housecleaning duties in each classroom

Greet participants and guests warmly and enthusiastically each day

Maintain safe, clean environment, teaching and modeling good hygiene skills

Maintain confidentiality regarding all personal information regarding children, families and staff

Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in education

Perform other duties as assigned.

Regularly remain sedentary for long periods of time in meetings and while processing information and paperwork both manually and on a computer

Reach with the hands and arms and use of hands to finger, type, and manipulate a computer keyboard and mouse Additionally, the incumbent must be able to converse in clear English both written and orally, over a telephone and in person Be able to make public presentations

Occasionally, incumbent may be required to lift up to 25 pounds, traverse uneven terrain and climb stairs while moving about campus, bend and stoop, conduct tours and show visitors campus facilities

Provide own transportation for local and remote events

Work hours vary and may include days, nights, and weekends
