ADCD provide support to Abu Dhabi Ports for large scale incidents
- Objectives and Role Profile
- Responding immediately and safely to emergency calls and requests for assistance;
- Attending emergency incidents including fires, road accidents, floods, bomb incidents, spillages of dangerous substances, and rail and air crashes;
- Rescuing trapped people and animals;
- Minimizing distress and suffering, including giving first aid before ambulance crews arrive; safeguarding their own and other people's personal safety at all times;
- Responding quickly to unforeseen circumstances as they arise;
- Cleaning up and checking the site after dealing with an incident;
- Develop knowledge on locations of various buildings and facilities to which they may respond.
- Inspecting and maintaining the appliance (fire engine) and its equipment, assisting in the testing of fire hydrants and checking emergency water supplies;
- Undertaking drills and physical training and taking part in training on techniques, use of equipment and related matters; maintaining the level of physical fitness necessary to carry out all the duties of a firefighter
- Driving fire vehicles in a safe manner to any locations inside or outside the port as directed by Officer in Charge if he is licensed to do so;
- Maintaining fire vehicles for operational readiness at all times in accordance with routine periodic maintenance and checks;
- Possess the necessary knowledge and skills to be a pump operator whenever required;
- Take over the roles and responsibilities of Lead Firefighter whenever required
- Ensure that English language is used and enforced all the time in the fire station
- Reporting to work on time and fit for work
- Maintaining a suitable level of fitness in order to pass in house fitness test
- Maintains knowledge and skills through self-study, attending lectures, training sessions, drills and exercises
- Acting responsible and lawfully outside work so the company’s image is not harmed
- Be prepared to provide cover at short notice and be contactable outside normal duty times
- Maintain good appearance, clean shaven to use SCBA properly and wear clean and proper uniform at all times.

- Qualifications/Experience/Competencies
- Secondary school andprefer high school
- Professional firefighter qualifications from a recognised professional body e.g. NFPA 1001,Firefighter I or other recognized standards
