- Improve the governance, strategic execution, and operational performance setting appropriate measures that keeps the function focused on business outcomes.

- Provide transparency of the total IT investment and enable key decision makers to prioritize demand based on strategic objectives, risks, dependencies, and potential constraints in the supply of IT services.
- Ensure there are processes in place to capture, distribute and effectively use IT knowledge across the enterprise, driving continuous learning and improvement.
- Position the value of IT and the role of the IT function within the group through effective communication of the strategic plans to drive the right priorities and behaviours.
- Develop the workforce strategy for the IT organization determining the appropriate resource levels, managing the talent pipeline, and ensuring objectives are aligned with strategic plans.
- Ensure career development, talent management, development plans, and succession planning is in place using Connected Conversations, the talent management process, and career development plans.
- Ensure all Health, Safety, and Wellbeing practices are adhered to and reported on.

Job Profile

Mott MacDonald are a global engineering, management and development consultancy focused on guiding their clients through many of the planet’s most intricate challenges.

Reporting to the Group Head of IT, the Head of IT - Planning and Governance is accountable for the following:

- Facilitate the creation of the IT strategy that covers the IT organisation and IT services ensuring the functions priorities are clearly defined with strategic plans put in place.
- Design and maintain the IT operating models that are required to successfully execute the strategy as part of the strategic planning process.
- Accountable for implementing the appropriate control frameworks and governance mechanisms for the management and use of IT.
- Ensure the function is performing to plan and report on metrics that track the progress of IT maturity against strategic objectives.

In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining a collaborative culture and leading an environment to improve the health, wellbeing, and engagement of the IT functions employees through visible leadership and effective people management.
