Reporting to the Head of Pricing for Zurich’s Life business in Middle East, the Actuarial Analyst is pursuing an actuarial qualification and, acting in an actuarial capacity, performs Life Insurance pricing, product development and risk management tasks for the retail and corporate portfolio. He/she is expected to perform more complex analyses under the supervision of more senior Analysts and Actuaries, all for the purpose of product development (either new or existing), profit-testing and valuing life business and evaluating risks. The Actuarial Analyst will also assist in the training of less experienced colleagues.

**Job Accountabilities**:
As Actuarial Analyst, you role will involve:

- Calculate premiums for new and/or existing products in line with agreed methodologies
- With appropriate review, coordinate, prepare, and perform actuarial analyses including demographic experience analysis, new business profitability analysis and other forward-looking projections, to required quality and timelines, for management reporting and business decision-making purposes
- Perform statistical analyses e.g. monitoring levels of business, business mix analyses, comparisons of actual to expected
- Provide advice and technical expertise on actuarial and risk quantification modeling approaches and implement routine cash flow model developments to ensure quality of model output
- Support the IFRS17 project by making enhancements and changes to models, pricing methodologies, etc. to ensure Zurich's readiness for IFRS17 implementation
- Support Finance, market-facing business units, Underwriting, Claims, Risk, Capital Management, Investment Management, Actuarial and other functions and actuarial business partners on reporting, reserving, reinsurance, solvency, risk and capital management and other operational and strategic business decisions by providing necessary data and analyses to required quality and timelines
- Specify and test IT developments for new products and enhancements to current products
- Support the valuation of actuarial reserves, financial reporting of embedded value and new business value, preparation of data for solvency and risk-based capital calculations to required quality and timelines for management reporting and business decision-making purposes
- Ensure that the pricing processes for the assigned Business Unit(s) are appropriately governed and controlled in accordance with Group, Regional, and Local internal / regulatory policies
- Research and analysis of experience trends and expenses (biometric risks, persistency etc.) and present these findings
- Provide support for development of rates, rating plans and pricing and portfolio management strategies for new and existing products and services
- Ensure technical and pricing queries directed to the team are managed within agreed timelines and to a high quality

**Job Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of Life actuarial experience including pricing experience
- Part-qualified FIA, FSA or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex concepts to a non-technical audience
- Excellent ability to work with data
- Strong organization skills with time management
- Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic team
- Excellent Excel and other MS Office skills, with a good grasp of VBA as minimum

Preferred skills:

- Strong Programming skills e.g. VBA, SQL, Python or R
- Data analytics and visualization skills e.g. Tableau, PowerBI
- Knowledge of and experience with Prophet or other actuarial modelling software
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and the impact on pricing, reserving and reporting
- Knowledge of IFRS17
- Knowledge of Embedded Value
