**Purpose of the Job**

Social Workers acts as a bridge between the school, students, families, teachers and community to address problems such as absenteeism, social withdrawal, overaggressive behaviors, rebelliousness, and the effects of special physical, emotional, and so on and find appropriate channels to provide the support required.

**Duties and responsibilities of Psychologist**
- Under the guidance of the_ Principal/ Vice Principal

**Services for the Students and Parents**:

- Participate in students’ assessments;
- File the reports where social, neglect, absenteeism, or other concerns are felt;
- Asses students physical and emotional functioning, barriers to academic performance, peer issues, and so on;
- Develop and implement support plans that support student social and academic growth;
- Search, coordinate, and gather the resources from the family, school, and community to help the student to achieve his / her educational and social progress;
- Closely work with parents to ensure the students integration into the school; Identify the issues and alleviate family stress where is necessary;
- Provide direct individual, family or group therapy regarding specific issues;
- Provide crisis intervention; Offer strategies for resolving disputes; Offer solutions;
- Provide trainings and workshops to teachers, school staff and parents;
Provide counseling (group, individual and / or family);
- Ensure that student difficulties are meticulously documented and filed to trace their social history and growth;
- Assist in developing and implementing educational programs for individual students.

**Services for the school**:

- Provide staff with essential information to better understand factors (cultural, societal, economic, familial, health, etc.) affecting a student’s performance and behavior;
- Assess students with mental health, other concerns;
- Provide assistance to Admissions where is required;
- Identify and report child abuse and neglect;
- Provide solutions to increase students’ wellbeing and increase their educational achievements;
- Keep students records in appropriate filing system (hard and soft copies), provide reports to the school’s Management where is required;
- Develop school’s staff training programs;
- Act as a liaison between the school, parents, students, ADEK and community as needed;
- Assist teachers with behavior management.

**Other duties assigned by the Principal as deemed appropriate.**

**Requirements**:
**Essential**
- **Education**: QFE 7 (Bachelor’s Degree) in Social Work or Social Service + 2 years of experience in youth related social work.

Or;

**Requirements**:

- Experience working with a wide range of issues students’ families face (e.g. domestic violence, negligence, abuse);
- Experience in working with Special Needs students;
- Ability to effectively communicate with people from diverse backgrounds;
- An empathetic and trustworthy personality;
- High level skill in Microsoft Office;
- Ability to quickly acquire database software skills;
- Ability to develop good personal relationships within students, parents, team;
- Highly organized, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
- Reliable, with an attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

**Other RESPONSIBILITIES**
- All staff are required to manage effective personal development as part of the Company’s commitment to invest in staff as the key resource in the organization.
