Your Opportunity
We currently are looking for a Team Leader who will lead the Base Security Services Security Guards in terms of the safeguarding of the security of Camp Baird and the surrounding perimeter of the base location. Serco’s Security Guard Team Leaders will be responsible for overseeing Security Guards Teams (i.e., Entry Point Security and Security Patrols) with specific duty responsibility for administrative functioning of the Security Guards.

Individuals deployed into Security Guard Team Leader roles on this contract will be a minimum Baseline AGSVA (Australian Government Security Vetting Agency) security level cleared as requested by our client.

Key Accountabilities
Fundamentally, these individuals will be required to maintain an active awareness of current threat levels and to remain vigilant in the reporting of any suspicious activities observed.

Security Guard Team Leaders will provide friendly, helpful customer service always and always maintain collaborative working relationship (s) with Defence personnel (Military and Australian Public Service), Serco personal, other Defence contractors and external agencies (e.g., Local Police).

All Security Guard Team Leaders must display their security licence on their person whilst on duty.

Lead and motivate Security Teams with an aim to meet the committed performance target of security operations. Security Guard Team Leaders will be responsible for:
Allocation and management of security resources on shift.

Responsible for coordinating shift cover in event of call offs/sick etc

Ensure all leave (sick leave, annual leave, carers leave, etc) is processed on Serco’s internal reporting systems in a timely manner i.e MyHr

Updating security roster, managing personnel resources and liaising with work force management (WFM).

Ensure communication is maintained with staff in terms of My Catch Up, objective setting, 1-1 catch ups and toolbox talks

Processing all staff overtime claims and queries timeously and developing an organised filing system

Providing effective internal and external communications and information in relation to the security services provided.

Implementing security measures and procedures to meet the security requirements of the client and base operating environment.

Undertaking security inspections on a routine and ad hoc basis.

Assisting with Incident Investigators in gathering information and evidence whenever necessary.

Assist Security Guards in managing their individual’s duties where required.

Perform shift and emergency duties when required

Perform and carry out other reasonable duties as instructed / directed by the Fire & Security Manager.

Report incidents and events that could affect the safety and security of the base operating environment.

Assist the Security Guards (and other department) in dealing with incidents and emergencies where necessary.

Actively participate in Internal Serco working groups such as Welfare Committee, WHS Committee and Operational Excellence Committee.

Security Guard Team Leaders will also lead by example in providing Base Security Services as follows:
**Entry Point Security Guard - Operational Duties**:
Visual identification, verification and P-tracking compliance preventing entry and exit of all unauthorised personnel and vehicles.

Ensure visitors comply with site induction requirements.

Issue, receipt and record temporary and visitor passes.

Monitor surveillance systems (where available and applicable).

Act as a deterrent to prevent the unauthorised removal of Defence assets or classified information.

Reporting of any concerns, issues, or suspicious activities observed to the identified client on-duty personnel.

**Security Patrol Guards - Operational Duties**:
Conduct periodic non-armed facility patrols of designated site(s), internal perimeters and building exteriors/interiors - preventing and detecting sign of intrusion or fault.

Respond or divert immediately to attend to any activated alarm on base.

Respond, answer alarms and investigate disturbances on base.

Patrolling internal grounds using a vehicle and visually identifying authorised personnel and vehicles that are on base, including the prevention of unauthorised removal of Defence assets and/or classified information.

Conduct walk-arounds of designated site (s), perimeters and building exteriors. Any suspicious activity or areas of security breaches to be notified
