**Position Overview**:
A General Practitioner Gynaecologist provides specialized healthcare services focusing on women’s reproductive health, pregnancy care, and general gynaecological issues. This role requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care, cultural sensitivity, and adherence to Abu Dhabi’s healthcare regulations under the Department of Health (DOH). The GP Gynaecologist collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive and high-quality healthcare.
**Key Responsibilities: Gynaecological and Obstetric Care**
- Diagnose and treat gynaecological conditions, including menstrual disorders, infections, pelvic pain, and hormonal imbalances.
- Provide prenatal care, including routine check-ups, monitoring fetal development, and addressing pregnancy-related concerns.
- Perform routine gynaecological examinations (Pap smears, breast exams, pelvic exams) and minor procedures (e.g., IUD insertions, endometrial biopsies).
- Manage contraception counselling, family planning, and menopause-related conditions.
- Address fertility concerns and preconception planning.
**Patient Counseling and Education**
- Educate patients about reproductive health, menstrual health, and pregnancy care.
- Offer counseling on lifestyle, nutrition, and exercise to support overall health and well-being.
- Provide guidance on managing chronic conditions like PCOS and endometriosis.
**Preventive Care Services**
- Conduct cervical and breast cancer screenings as per Abu Dhabi and DOH guidelines.
- Promote preventive measures, including vaccinations (e.g., HPV) and healthy living practices.
- Provide pre-marital and sexual health counselling in line with UAE cultural norms.
**Administrative and Regulatory Compliance**
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using electronic medical records (EMRs).
- Comply with Abu Dhabi healthcare regulations, including DOH standards and licensing requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
- Stay updated on Abu Dhabi healthcare policies, medical advancements, and ethical standards.
**Qualifications and Skills: Educational Requirements**:
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
- Postgraduate training or certification in gynaecology is highly preferred.
- Valid DOH license or eligibility for licensure in Abu Dhabi.
**Experience**:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in gynaecology and women’s health.
- Experience in antenatal care, outpatient gynaecology, and minor gynaecological procedures.
**Technical Skills**:
- Proficiency in using EMRs and diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with DOH standards and Abu Dhabi healthcare regulations.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
