- **Supplier Management**: Source and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and equipment to ensure timely delivery and competitive pricing.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Schedule and oversee regular maintenance of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- **Staff Supervision**: Hire, train, and supervise production staff. Delegate tasks effectively and provide ongoing feedback to ensure high productivity and morale.
- **Cost Control**: Monitor production costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement strategies to optimize efficiency without compromising quality.
- **Process Improvement**: Continuously evaluate production processes and implement improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- **Health and Safety Compliance**: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace. Implement measures to minimize hazards and promote a safe working environment.
- **Customer Service**: Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- **Budgeting and Forecasting**: Develop and manage budgets for production operations. Prepare forecasts based on sales projections and market trends.
- **Data Analysis and Reporting**: Analyze production data and generate reports on key performance metrics such as production output, efficiency, and quality indicators.
- **Continuous Learning**: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in production processes and equipment.
- **Environmental Sustainability**: Implement environmentally sustainable practices in production processes, such as waste reduction and energy conservation.
- **Communication**: Maintain open communication channels with all stakeholders, including management, staff, suppliers, and customers, to ensure alignment of goals and objectives.

**Requirements**:

- **Education**: A bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, food science, or a related field is typically required. Or anything that is equivalent.
- **Experience**: A minimum of 2 years of experience working with cakes and managing a cake factory is essential. This experience should encompass production planning, quality control, inventory management, and staff supervision within a cake manufacturing environment.
- **Knowledge of Food Safety Regulations**: Familiarity with food safety regulations and certifications, such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and FDA guidelines, is essential to ensure compliance in the production process.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in using production management software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is often required. Experience with bakery-specific software or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems is a plus.
- **Leadership Abilities**: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team of production staff. The ability to delegate tasks, provide feedback, and resolve conflicts is essential.
- **Problem-Solving Skills**: The operational manager must be able to identify operational challenges, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions to optimize production processes and overcome obstacles.
- **Attention to Detail**: Precision and attention to detail are crucial in ensuring that custom cakes meet quality standards and customer specifications. The operational manager must monitor production closely to prevent errors and minimize waste.
