**Context**

Veolia Middle East will start a new contract, operate and maintain two industrial Waste Treatment Facilities (IWTF) in Ruwais (Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates) with around 200 employees.

An existing team of 80 employees, operating the facilities will be transferred and incorporated within the new operating team, 120 employees will have to be recruited to take over the facilities within 6 months.

The Hazardous Waste Treatment Facility (HWTF or BeAAT) includes TDU, deoiling tricanter, Stabilization, Class I and II landfill, PCT, mercury treatment unit, and Incineration lines with a capacity around 60 KTA;
The Natural Occurring Radioactive Materials Treatment Facility (NORM) is a new 6,5 KTA decontamination facility, including a high pressure water descaling system, incineration and encapsulation of ashes.

Two / third of the assets were commissioned in 2021 and some alignment works, process, procedures should be implemented to comply with Veolia standards.

**Position Summary**

The Nuclear Safety Advisor supports both the QHSSE Team and the O&M team(s) in implementing, controlling and ensuring the effectiveness of the QHSE and Nuclear Safety management system for NORM plants.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Implement and execute QHSE & Nuclear Safety management in line with ADNOC regulations and Veolia policy.
- Oversee all QHSE & Nuclear Safety activity and significantly improve the safety culture.
- Support O&M teams in QHSE & Nuclear Safety compliance initiatives, incident prevention, investigations, hazard control, safety and environmental audits and training.
- Advise O&M team on the protection required according to expected radiation and contamination level.
- Lead the review of Nuclear safety related documents and analysis.
- Interact with local authority for renewal and maintenance of licensing.
- Review operation processes for deviations with nuclear safety principle and guidelines.

**Qualifications and experience**
- **General requirement**:_

Minimum 5 years experience as Nuclear Safety Advisor within the Nuclear industry in facility operation.
- **Education Requirements**:_Master Degree in Nuclear Safety/Radiation Protection.
- **Languages required**:_proficient in English.
- **Required technical skills**:_
- Knowledge of nuclear safety international regulations and practices;
- Implementation of ISO based management systems (Quality/Safety & Environment);
- Radioprotection related Accreditation from international recognized body;
- Conversant with ionizing radiation doses and contamination radiation dose measurement and risk assessment;
- Conversant with contamination level and
- Conversant with radioactive waste management/process, Nuclear safety analysis tools and overall management of nuclear related facilities;
- Advance Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and Powerpoint).

Ability to commute/relocate:
