Head Barista

The Head Barista is responsible for leading the barista team, managing the quality of all beverages, and ensuring a positive customer experience. This role requires extensive knowledge of coffee, brewing methods, and equipment, as well as strong leadership and communication skills. The Head Barista will also oversee inventory management, maintain cleanliness, and train staff.
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Coffee Preparation & Quality Control:
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks, pour-over coffee, and other beverages.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of all coffee products.
- Monitor the quality of coffee beans and brewing methods to maintain high standards.
2. Team Leadership & Training:
- Lead, supervise, and support the barista team in daily operations.
- Train new baristas on coffee preparation, customer service, and shop protocols.
- Continuously mentor and provide feedback to team members to improve performance.
- Create schedules for baristas and manage shifts effectively.
3. Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing complaints.
- Foster a welcoming environment to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
4. Inventory & Supply Management:
- Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients.
- Order supplies as needed, ensuring that inventory is always sufficient without overstocking.
- Manage waste and minimize spoilage.
5. Maintenance & Cleanliness:
- Ensure all equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewers, is regularly cleaned and maintained.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness of the café, including countertops, machines, and seating areas.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs when necessary.
6. Menu Development & Innovation:
- Collaborate with the café manager or owner to develop and refine the beverage menu.
- Stay up-to-date with coffee trends and introduce new beverages or techniques to enhance the menu offerings.
- Create seasonal specials or unique drinks to attract customers.
7. Operational Management:
- Assist in opening and closing the café, including balancing tills, completing checklists, and securing the premises.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist the café manager in tracking sales, customer preferences, and operational efficiency.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a barista, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in coffee-making techniques, including espresso pulling, milk frothing, and manual brewing methods.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of coffee bean varieties, roasting processes, and flavor profiles.
- Basic understanding of inventory management and ordering.
- Certification: Barista certification or advanced training in coffee preparation (preferred but not required).
Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
