**JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title**:Electrical Drafter (Draftsman / Draftswoman)

**Reporting To**: Design In-charge / Project Manager / Project Director

**Job Summary**: Responsible for preparation of complete engineering drawings, charts diagrams and calculations as assigned and required for the projects and assisting to compile the pre-design information.

**Primary Responsibilities**: - Preparing complete drawings, charts and diagrams of moderate complexity. - Working from sketches, verbal instructions and observation using computer assisted drafting (CAD) software to layout equipment and facilities, revise existing drawings, prepare preliminary drawings, check dimension of parts etc. - Develop CAD drawings, edit specifications and process construction shop drawings for infrastructure (power utility) and substation projects. - Produce designs and drawings for electrical systems, cable schedules, single line diagrams, general arrangement drawings and earthing/lightning/services designs according to established standards and procedures. - Preparing finished working drawings in accordance with design data. - Assisting in compiling pre-design information from project team and manufacturers. - Timely updation and preparation of drawings as per project progress. - Develop complete as-built drawings as per works completed for review and approval. - Preparation of preliminary drawings for tender/design stage. - Read and understand orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and supplier/manufacturer/client drawings. - Maintaining numbering system for filing of drawings and related documents - Assisting other drafting team members on complex assignments as part of a project team - Other responsibilities may include preparation of bills of material, resolution of client comments and as-built drawing preparation. - Explain prepared drawings to the project teams. - Interact with engineering personnel and other staff to resolve identified issues.

**Skills & Qualification**:

- Proficiency with 2D- CAD software, such as AutoCAD. - Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook etc). - The ability to stay up to date with the latest developments in electrical systems and best industry practices. - Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication skills and collaborative abilities. - Willingness to meet deadlines. - Diploma Degree in Engineering or Drafting - Minimum 3-5 years of proven drafting experience in GCC - Previous drafting or design experience in the power industry is preferred
