**Job Summary**:
The Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Ras al Khaimah (AURAK) seeks to hire a Physics faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank starting Fall 2023 (mid-August). Prior successful teaching experience at the university level employing high-impact educational practices to promote active learning by students and experience in working effectively with globally diverse student populations are expected.

**Primary Responsibilities Include**:

- Teaching introductory and preparatory Physics courses for Biotechnology and Engineering programs.
- Developing or continuing to advance an internationally recognized research program.
- Participating in Department, School of Arts and Sciences, and University committees.
- Participating in outreach activities, such as workshops and seminars.

**Required Qualifications and Skills**:

- A doctoral degree in Physics from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Effective oral and written English communication skills.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching, including the use of high-impact educational practices at the university level, and excellence in scholarship activities.
- Experience in working effectively with a diverse student population.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines.
- Experience with professional accreditation requirements.
