**Overseeing Month-end and Year-end Processes**: This involves coordinating and managing all activities related to the month-end and year-end financial close processes. - **Ensuring Accuracy in Financial Reporting**: The finance manager is responsible for ensuring that all financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, are prepared accurately and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or relevant accounting standards. This involves conducting thorough reviews of financial data and statements to identify and rectify any errors or discrepancies.
- **Collaborating with Internal Departments**: The finance manager works closely with other departments within the organization, such as accounting, treasury, and operations, to gather necessary information, resolve issues, and ensure that financial reporting deadlines are met. Effective communication and collaboration are essential for addressing any concerns or challenges that may arise during the closing process.
- **Implementing Internal Controls**: Implementing and maintaining robust internal controls is crucial for safeguarding assets, preventing fraud, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The finance manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring internal control procedures to mitigate risks and enhance the integrity of financial reporting processes.
- **Continuous Improvement**: The finance manager should continually evaluate and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the closing process. This may involve streamlining procedures, leveraging technology solutions, and identifying opportunities for automation to enhance accuracy, reduce cycle times, and optimize resource utilization.
**Requirements**:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (ICAEW), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) designation.
- Proven experience in a finance management role, with a focus on financial reporting, month-end, and year-end close processes.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
