**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Bread and Pastry Production**: Prepare and bake a variety of artisan breads, pastries, and other baked goods using traditional and innovative techniques.
- **Recipe Development**: Develop and refine recipes to ensure the highest quality and consistency of products. Experiment with new ingredients and techniques to create unique offerings.
- **Ingredient Management**: Select and source high-quality ingredients, ensuring freshness and consistency in all baked goods. Monitor inventory and manage stock levels efficiently.
- **Quality Control**: Maintain rigorous quality control throughout the baking process. Inspect baked goods for appearance, texture, and taste to meet established standards.
- **Sanitation and Safety**: Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation practices. Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- **Customer Interaction**: Engage with customers to understand their preferences and provide recommendations. Customize baked goods to meet specific customer needs when applicable.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work closely with other bakers and staff to ensure smooth operations. Assist with training new team members as needed.
**Qualifications**:
- **Experience**: Proven experience as an artisan baker or in a similar role within a bakery. Experience with both traditional and innovative baking techniques is preferred.
- **Skills**: Proficiency in using commercial baking equipment and tools. Strong knowledge of ingredients, techniques, and baking science.
- **Creativity**: Ability to create unique and visually appealing baked goods. Innovative mindset to experiment with new recipes and techniques.
- **Attention to Detail**: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in baking processes and product presentation.
- **Communication**: Good verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Certification from a culinary school or baking program.
- Experience with specialty baking techniques (e.g., sourdough, gluten-free).
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
