The Operations Excellence Lead is responsible for the centralised management of operational continuous improvement actions, initiatives and other assurance activities such as investigations and compliance checks to drive operational excellence. The primary responsibility is to lead on process simplification, standardisation and progressing the continuous improvement cycle.

Supports operations in identification of improvement opportunities, recommending clear actions, implementation of actions, measure and validate efficiencies attained through completion of those actions.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Overall centralised management of the continues improvement register for operations department.
- Supporting delivery of improvement initiatives to build resilience and improve efficiency.
- Simplification and standardisation of operational process, procedures and work instructions and centralised document reviews.
- Support ongoing review of dynamic flowcharts and linked operational documents
- Conduct periodic compliance checks to monitor implementation of continuous improvement actions and report findings of areas of improvement to management team
- Support in delivery of other operational assurance activities including drills, management inspections and coordination with other functions within the organisation.
- Support in implementation of change or lead change within operations department.

**KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED**
- Knowledge of railway safety management systems, process and continuous improvement process
- Good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced and cross functional environment;
- Preferably 5 years of Railway operations experience.

**KEY SKILLS**
- Strong organisational, managment skills and ability to work unsupervised
- Professional maturity, judgment, supervisory presence to lead actions or tasks, projects
- problem solving, analysis, process improvement and ability to manage complex tasks within target time frames.
- Collaborative, strong team player,leadrship skills to work with cross
- functional teams.
- Excellent verbal/ written communicator, preparing reports, presentations and public speaking

**EXPERIENCES**
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in the railway operations essential;
- Experience in implementation or management of continuous improvement actions,
- Experience in operational document writing and conducting reviews
- Understanding of Investigation process, experience in conducting interviews and writing reports
- Experience in one or railway functions
- operations (station, OCC and Train operation), Maintenance and QHSE.

**EDUCATIONNAL QUALIFCATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent vocational qualification.
- A degree in Management discipline, will be added advantage.
- Relevant railway professional qualification and membership of professional body, will be an advantage.
