**Purpose of the Job**

Recreation/ Cultural Coordinator shall be in charge of planning, executing, and coordinating the assigned programs and services for activities, culture, and special events. working closely with school’s Management and Extra Curricular Activities Coordinator, plan and carry out regularly scheduled recreational and cultural programs as well as assist in executing programs and events, including managing the efforts of volunteers and support staff.

A Career Counselor shall help students build their future educational or career pathways, understand their strengths and interests, aid them to overcome problems and hurdles, and develop critical skills.

**Duties and responsibilities of recreational cultural coordinator**
- Under the guidance of the Principal / Vice Principal_

1. Plans, organizes, schedules and coordinates recreation, sports, camp, age-oriented and cultural programs and activities.

2. Prepares the estimated monthly/ annual budget for programs/ activities.

3. Translates in Arabic the documents required, provide letters in Arabic to the ADEK, other Government Entities in regards of cultural events, activities, trips, etc.

4. Assists in the creation and implementation of new trainings and programs for the staff and students; creates the program's objectives, budget requirements, then, upon approval, puts them into action.

5. Acquires and maintains supplies and inventory for designated programs.

6. Directs and reviews the work of part-time and support staff and volunteers; instructs staff in work procedures and ensures adherence to safety policies and procedures.

7. Collaborates closely with the coordinator of extracurricular activities, especially when Arabic language (oral or written) is required; advices Extracurricular Activities Coordinator about Local culture and customs.

8. Ensures that all the external support staff, volunteers, visitors that have been approved by the school’s Principal for any projects, events, etc. as per the school’s requirements have provided all the necessary documents as per the HR instructions.

9. Prepares and maintains statistical and narrative records and reports related to recreation programs, projects, inclusive assigned tasks to the Facilities to facilitate the approved by the school events, programs, etc.

10. Responds to public inquiries and complaints related to recreation and cultural programs and activities to maintain good public relations.

11. Promotes the school via various media channels, acts as a link between school and community, creates relationships with various organizations, boards, Government entities, etc.

12. Participates in conferences, workshops, and meetings; presents information about the school when asked; establishes community partnerships to carry out programming, provides staff representation to various organizations, boards, and/or commissions.

13. Conducts research on a variety of reports, publicity, and statistical data; initiates and creates brochures, notices, catalogs, newsletters, and press releases as needed.

14. Evaluates and keeps track of the suitability, physical state, and safety of the school’s premises being used to special events, programs, etc. and promptly reports the maintenance issues ( if any) to the Facility Management.

15. Participates in the culturally sensitive meetings, unexpected situations with the parents, visitors, etc. where is required.

16. Completes additional tasks as requested.

**Duties and responsibilities of career counselor**
- Under the guidance of the Principal / Vice Principal_

17. Help students understand and overcome social or behavioral challenges.

18. Analyze data to identify factors, such as poor attendance, that negatively affect academic performance.

19. Work with students to develop their skills that support learning, such as effective time management and study habits.

20. Evaluate students’ abilities and interests through aptitude assessments and interviews.

21. Collaborate with teachers and families to help students plan academic, career, and social goals.

22. Propose options to students for educational or vocational plans after graduation.

23. Report cases of possible neglect or abuse and refer students and parents to resources for additional support.

24. Maintain records of the meetings, file notes about individual students, etc. and generate reports to the school’s Management when is required.

The specific duties of school counselors vary with their students' ages.

Counselor in Cycle 1 school shall visit classrooms or meet with students individually or in groups to help them develop their social and academic skills.
