**Job Summary
**Danat Al Emarat, our Women's and Children's Hospital **in Abu Dhabi, is actively recruiting for a **Registered Midwife **, who would perform in charge duties as delegated by the Senior Registered/Charge Midwife/ Director of Nursing.

Â- Understands, supports and promotes the mission, vision, and values of organization.

Â- Accountable for ensuring all services rendered are consistent with their education and assessed competence, meet legislative requirements and are supported by appropriate standards.

Â- Responsible for the orientation and induction training of new, junior Registered Nurses, Practical Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

Â- Responsible in the provision of quality nursing care by maintaining accurate records in the EMR and in the maintenance of professional standards as per DOH Scope of Practice, through continuing education and development.

Â- Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients and families

Â- Promotes and restores patients' health by establishment of a plan of care and educating patients and their families about their conditions.

Â- Responsible for delivering direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, to include assessment, implementation and evaluation of care required of the assigned patients.

**Patient Care
Â- **Midwifery care**

Â- Assesses patients through the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum phases of pregnancy. Assessing their nursing needs, taking into account their medical, social, cultural and family circumstances.

Â- Be able to communicate appropriately with patients in the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum phase of pregnancy and their spouse and family as well as working in partnership with other health care professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Â- Detect labor symptoms in women and provide appropriate nursing care.

Â- Monitor patient for contractions and fetal wellbeing.

Â- Interpret CTG for contractions and fetal wellbeing.

Â- Assist and support Obstetricians and Gynecologist in treating patient

Â- Assist and support Obstetricians and Pediatricians in treating newborns at delivery and whenever needed.

Â- Ensure comfort and support to mothers and infants while executing midwifery functions

**Education Requirements
Â- Bachelor's Degree in Midwifery from an Accredited School of Nursing/University **OR**

Â- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with additional Midwifery qualification

**Licenses, Registrations & Certifications Requirements
Â- Current DOH License as a Registered Midwife

Â- Current Home Country license

Â- Current BLS Certificate

Â- Current NRP certificate

Â- Current ACLS preferred

Â- K2 CTG training preferred

**Professional Experience Required (Relevant to the Job)
Â- Minimum 2 years post Midwifery qualification experience

**Working Conditions / Environment
Â- The incumbent will be required to work during weekends, public holidays and nights.

Â- May be required to work overtime depending on the needs of the Organization.

Â- May be required to be on-call

Â- This job may require the ability to continuously stand or walk. It may also require the ability to bend, squat and lift documents and files.

**Qualifications Required**:

- BSc (Bachelors) Degree in Midwifery (3+ years duration)
- 2+ years experience post qualification as a Midwife in an appropriate hospital setting
