**BIM - Draughtsman : Duties and Responsibilities**

**BIM Model Development**
- Develop detailed 3D models of construction projects, including architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) elements, using BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks).
- Translate 2D sketches and drawings into 3D BIM models.

**Coordination and Collaboration**
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment of BIM models with project specifications.
- Support clash detection and resolution by identifying conflicts between various design disciplines within the model.
- Ensure models are updated to reflect design changes and revisions.

**Documentation and Drawings**
- Generate accurate 2D and 3D drawings, including plans, sections, and elevations, from the BIM model.
- Prepare detailed construction documentation, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.

**Data Management**
- Organize and manage BIM data to ensure compliance with project standards and protocols.
- Ensure proper file naming conventions, version control, and documentation in line with organizational BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).

**Quality Assurance**
- Conduct regular audits of BIM models to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards such as ISO 19650.
- Check the integrity and consistency of BIM datasets.

**Software and Technology Usage**
- Operate and maintain proficiency in BIM-related tools, including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Dynamo, and other software as required.
- Utilize BIM models for quantity take-offs, material estimation, and project visualization.

**Compliance and Standards**
- Ensure adherence to BIM standards, protocols, and best practices, both organizational and project-specific.
- Stay updated on advancements in BIM technologies and practices.

**Support and Training**
- Assist in training junior team members or other stakeholders in the use of BIM tools and workflows.
- Provide technical support for BIM-related queries or issues.

**BIM - Draughtsman : Requirements**
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in BIM tools and software (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a draughtsman, with at least 2 years in a BIM-focused role.
- Hands-on experience in infrastructure or building projects is preferred.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other BIM-related tools.
- Knowledge of Dynamo, Rhino, Grasshopper, or other parametric modeling tools is a plus.
- Understanding of industry standards such as ISO 19650 and PAS 1192.
- Familiarity with MEP coordination and clash detection processes.
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings accurately.
- Attention to detail and a strong focus on model accuracy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to explain technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
- Organizational skills for managing large datasets and multiple project files.
- Proactive attitude toward learning and adopting new BIM technologies.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality outputs within tight deadlines.
