**The Role**

Uptown International School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated EAL Coordinator to join our team.

**Role Overview**

As the EAL Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and overseeing programs that facilitate English language acquisition for students whose first language is not English. You will collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure that our EAL students receive tailored support to thrive academically and socially.

**Key Responsibilities**

Develop and implement effective EAL curriculum and instructional strategies

Provide support and resources to teachers to differentiate instruction for EAL students

Assess students' language proficiency and monitor their progress

Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure a supportive home-to-school language learning environment

Organize professional development sessions for staff to enhance EAL teaching practices

Stay updated with current research and best practices in EAL education

**Qualifications**

Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, or related field (Master's degree preferred)

Teaching certification and/or ESL/EAL certification

Proven experience in EAL/ESL education

Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and teaching methodologies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
