A Horeca (short for hotel, restaurant, and cafe) salesman is responsible for selling products and services to businesses within the hospitality industry. The job description for a Horeca salesman typically includes the following:
Sales activities: Develop and execute sales plans to meet or exceed sales targets. Identify new opportunities, build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, and negotiate contracts.

Product knowledge: Understand the features, benefits, and technical specifications of the products and services offered by the company. Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.

Customer service: Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to inquiries, resolving customer issues, and providing after-sales support.

Market research: Conduct market research to identify potential customers, understand their needs and preferences, and gather feedback on products and services.

Reporting and analysis: Prepare regular reports on sales activities, customer feedback, and market trends. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes accordingly.

Team collaboration: Work closely with the sales team, marketing team, and other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to sales activities and customer service.

Travel: Travel to customer sites as required to meet with customers, present products and services, and negotiate contracts.

Administrative tasks: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and other relevant information.

To be successful in this role, a Horeca salesman should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Knowledge of the hospitality industry and its trends, as well as experience in sales and marketing, are also highly desirable.
