Quantity Surveyor

**Responsibilities**:
- **Cost Estimation & Budgeting**:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, based on drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Develop comprehensive budgets for MEP projects, ensuring all components are accounted for and aligned with project specifications.
- Analyze project specifications and requirements to provide accurate cost forecasting and value engineering options.
- **Tender Preparation & Documentation**:
- Prepare and issue tender documents for MEP works, including bills of quantities, scope of work, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to ensure that all tender documents reflect the latest project requirements and standards.
- Review and assess tender submissions, providing recommendations for award based on cost, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
- **Risk Analysis & Management**:
- Conduct risk analysis for MEP projects during the pre-contract phase, identifying potential cost impacts and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Provide input on risk management plans, ensuring all potential risks are considered in the project budget and timeline.
- **Contractual Advice & Negotiation**:
- Provide expert advice on contractual matters related to MEP works, including pricing strategies, contract terms, and conditions.
- Assist in negotiating contract terms with clients, contractors, and suppliers to secure favorable outcomes for the company.
- Ensure that all pre-contract activities comply with relevant contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, JCT) and UAE construction regulations.
- **Value Engineering**:
- Identify opportunities for value engineering during the pre-contract phase, providing alternative solutions that achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to implement value engineering proposals in the project scope.
- **Bid Analysis & Recommendations**:
- Evaluate and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers for MEP works, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tender requirements.
- Prepare detailed bid comparison reports, highlighting cost differences, compliance issues, and recommendations for selection.
- Assist in the final selection of subcontractors and suppliers based on bid analysis and project requirements.
- **Client & Stakeholder Communication**:
- Engage with clients and stakeholders during the pre-contract phase, providing updates on cost estimates, tender progress, and contractual matters.
- Ensure that all client requirements and preferences are reflected in the tender documents and cost estimates.
- **Documentation & Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate records of all pre-contract activities, including cost estimates, tender documents, and contractual correspondence.
- Prepare and submit pre-contract reports to senior management, providing insights on cost estimates, tender outcomes, and project risks.
- Ensure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal and external audit requirements.
- **Market Analysis & Supplier Engagement**:
- Conduct market research to stay informed about current trends in MEP materials, labor costs, and subcontractor rates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
**Preferences and Conditions**
**Requirement**: Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with 02-05 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on pre-contract activities in the MEP sector within the UAE. Strong understanding of MEP systems, materials, and installation methods, with the ability to accurately estimate costs.Familiarity with UAE construction regulations, MEP standards, and contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, JCT).Proficient in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, CCS Candy) and MS Office Suite.
