Payroll Clerk

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Process payroll for employees, ensuring accurate calculations of wages, taxes, and deductions.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, hours worked, and wage adjustments.
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposit payments on a timely basis.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Prepare payroll reports for management and assist with payroll audits.
- Handle employee benefits deductions and coordinate with the HR department as needed.
- Address discrepancies in payroll and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including tax form distribution.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information at all times.
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in payroll processing or a related role is preferred.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
